Notice of study commencement for Rosehill Water Treatment Plant in Fort Erie
Niagara Region is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment Addendum for the Rosehill Water Treatment Plant new intake and outfall project in the Town of Fort Erie.
The Rosehill Water Treatment Plant is located at 300 Rosehill Rd. Subsequent to the new intake environmental assessment completed in 2022, Niagara Region wishes to modify the preferred solution to improve constructability and project phasing for the new intake and associated infrastructure.
This project is being carried out according to the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act and will include identification and evaluation of alternatives, with consideration for environmental, social, cultural, financial and technical impacts, and mitigation measures.
Consultation with the public, Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies and interested parties is a key element of a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment study. Notification of the future Public Information Centre will be advertised in the local newspapers and at the Rosehill Water Treatment Plant new intake pipe and outfall project page.
