Notice of construction for Laurie Avenue Sewage Pumping Station and forcemain upgrades in Lincoln

Niagara Region is proceeding with upgrades to the Laurie Avenue Sewage Pumping Station and forcemain in the Town of Lincoln.
 
The pumping station at 3391 Laurie Ave. will be replaced with new infrastructure, including the construction of a new 520 metre long forcemain that will run from the pumping station site along Laurie Avenue and Victoria Avenue North. It will connect to existing infrastructure at the intersection of Victoria Avenue North and North Service Road.
 
Construction will start in October 2024 and last until February 2026.
 
Construction along the roadway to install the new forcemain, which is expected to have the most traffic impacts, will start in October and last until December 2024.
  • Expect ongoing lane restrictions, lane closures and road closures resulting in travel delays
  • Alternate routes around the construction zone will be posted and should be taken
  • No planned service interruptions to water, wastewater, electricity, or gas are expected. Affected properties near any planned service interruptions will be notified at least 48 hours in advance.
  • Public access to homes and businesses will be kept throughout construction
  • There will be some cases where construction may block driveways for a short period. Residents will be notified in advance and accommodations will be made as necessary.
  • It is recommended to reduce any non-essential activities in the construction area. Use extra caution when entering the area, read and obey all warning signs, avoid heavy equipment and stay visible to all workers and vehicles.
  • There will be no changes to garbage, recycling and organic collection. If needed, the contractor will carry bins to a more accessible location and return once emptied. Residents should label their bins to ensure they are not misplaced.
