Notice of study commencement and Public Information Centre #1 for Niagara Region Transportation Master Plan
Niagara Region is developing a comprehensive Transportation Master Plan. The plan will update the Region’s existing Transportation Master Plan that was approved in 2017. The new plan will extend that vision to 2051 and beyond, focusing on the Region’s long-term transportation needs.
The plan will outline the infrastructure and service requirements needed to accommodate the Region's projected growth to 2051. It will act as a long-term guide to help improve the Region’s transportation system so it is safe, affordable, accessible, efficient, sustainable and ready for growth. The plan will also incorporate recommendations from other Niagara Region initiatives.
The process
The project will follow Approach 1 for master plans under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process. It will complete the first two phases of that process, which look at options for providing the infrastructure and services needed to 2051.
Public input is encouraged throughout the study. Two Public Information Centres will be held to present information and collect feedback.
Public Information Centre #1
Niagara Region will host the first Public Information Centre. It will provide an overview of the study, including how it will support Niagara’s growth to 2051 and how you can share your feedback.
