Notice of submission for Niagara Escarpment Crossing Comprehensive Environmental Assessment in Grimsby, Lincoln and West Lincoln

In spring 2023, Niagara Region started an Individual Environmental Assessment, now known as a Comprehensive Environmental Assessment.

A north-south transportation crossing of the Niagara Escarpment between the Queen Elizabeth Way and Regional Road 20 would:
  • Provide safe and effective movement of commercial vehicles and other transportation modes
  • Increase safety for local communities
  • Improve economic growth through efficient movement of goods and services
A Comprehensive Environmental Assessment involves a two-step approval process. The first step is preparing a Terms of Reference, which outlines the work plan for planning and decision-making, including the alternatives considered and consultation activities.
