Types of notices
A ticket is an "offence notice" issued to an individual or corporation. You must action your ticket by selecting one of the three options listed on the ticket within 15 days of receiving your ticket.
A summons is an order to appear in front of a Justice of the Peace. You or someone on your behalf must attend court at the time and place shown on the summons.

Option 1: Pay your fine
By choosing this option, you are admitting guilt and you must pay the total payable amount listed at the bottom of your ticket.
You can pay your ticket online, by phone, in person or by mail.

Option 2: Request a meeting to discuss your ticket
To request an early resolution meeting with a prosecutor, confirm your address is correct on your ticket and complete one of the following:
- Request an early resolution meeting online
- Check Option 2 on your ticket, take a clear picture of the ticket and email to POAInfo@niagararegion.ca or fax to 905-687-6614
- Check Option 2 on your ticket and deliver by mail or in-person to the Niagara Region Provincial Offences Courthouse at 445 East Main St., Welland, ON L3B 3X7

Option 3: Request a trial
If you believe you are not guilty of the offence noted on your ticket, you can request a trial. Confirm your address is correct on your ticket and complete one of the following:
- Check Option 3 on your ticket, take a clear picture of the ticket and email to POAInfo@niagararegion.ca or fax to 905-687-6614
- Check Option 3 on your ticket and deliver by mail or in-person to the Niagara Region Provincial Offences Courthouse at 445 East Main St., Welland, ON L3B 3X7
Status of traffic ticket or fine
Check the status of tickets or fines issued under the Provincial Offences Act.
Parking tickets from city / town
The Niagara Region Provincial Offences Courthouse does not handle parking tickets. Parking tickets must be paid at the city / town that issued the ticket.

- If you do nothing after receiving a ticket
Your offence notice will be reviewed and you may be convicted of the offence in your absence.
Once you have been convicted, the options on the ticket are no longer available to you.
Contact the court office at 905-687-6590 to pay your fine or determine what next steps may be available to you.
Upon conviction, additional costs will be incurred. Fines that remain unpaid are subject to collection enforcement.
