Application for Construction Encroachment

This application is required for any work to be completed on or below a Regional road allowance. Construction encroachment permits are valid for a period of three months following the approval date on the permit.

Processing time is a minimum of 14 business days from the date of application.

Attach any supporting documentation that is relevant. Only PDF, JPG, DOC(X), XLS(X), PNG, TXT files allowed only. No more than 5 MB file size, 10 MB total.

Application Guidelines

  • A plan or sketch must accompany this application, showing details and the location of the proposed works (must show nearest intersection)
  • A current certificate of liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 to $10,000,000 naming Niagara Region as an additional named insured. This certificate must accompany the application. The amount will be specified by the Region.
  • Provide all related drawings and a signed Certificate of Insurance form by emailing roadpermits@niagararegion.ca specifying the permit type and applicant name in the subject line.
