About the project

Niagara Region is carrying out a study to identify the preferred Smithville sewer alignment. The sewer will carry flows from Smithville to the Baker Road Wastewater Treatment Plant.

This study will:

• Examine the capacity and size needed for the proposed Smithville sewer to support growth in West Lincoln and Grimsby
• Define the problems and opportunities with the site
• Develop and evaluate alternative strategies
• Determine the most feasible solution
• Identify methods to avoid or minimize impacts on the community and natural environment
