Positive Parenting Program
Positive Parenting is a free, in-person course for parents living in Niagara with preteens and teenagers aged 11 to 17. The program is evidence-based and used across the world. It gives parents and caregivers simple and practical strategies to build strong healthy relationships with their children.
Positive Parenting covers topics such as:
- Providing a home that guides and supports teenagers as they strive to become independent, well-adjusted young adults
- Helping teens become skilled at making good personal decisions
- Negotiating rules, responsibilities and privileges
- Staying calm when inevitable conflicts arise
- Being realistic - every teen and every parent will make mistakes
- Taking care of yourself as a parent

There's many changes that happen to teeth and gums during the teenage years. It's very important to maintain a healthy lifestyle for your growing body, and a healthy mouth. Healthy teeth and gums, affects the way you eat, speak and socialize.
Niagara Region Public Health dental program offers free services for teens 17 and younger.
Services include dental screening, cleaning, dental sealants, fluoride varnish, oral health education and information about additional free dental care to those who financially qualify.
If your teen is experiencing dental pain, or requires dental work such as fillings or extractions, free dental services are available to eligible teens through Healthy Smiles Ontario.
