Alcohol and Drug Use

Youth and teen years are a time exploring and experimenting. Youth often face peer pressure to use alcohol, tobacco or other drugs.

Substance use statistics in Niagara show that over 57 per cent of teens’ state they have had a drink once or more in the previous month, and 35 per cent of high school students report having tried cannabis at least once in the previous year.
