Application for Road Occupancy Permits

This application is required for any item that will be installed and remain on a Regional road allowance for a period of time.

  • Permit fee: $125
  • Lane occupancy per day: $250
  • Lane occupancy per week: $600

Processing time is a minimum of 14 business days from the date of application.

 Certificate of liability insurance:
Please provide all related drawings and a signed Certificate of Insurance form by emailing roadpermits@niagararegion.ca specifying the permit type and applicant name in the subject line.

Supporting Documents

Attach any supporting documentation that is relevant. Only PDF, JPG, DOC(X), XLS(X), PNG, TXT files allowed only. No more than 5 MB file size, 10 MB total.

Terms and Conditions

  • A current certificate of liability insurance in the amount of at least $1,000,000 - $10,000,000 naming Niagara Region as an additional named insured. This certificate must accompany the application. The amount will be specified by the Region.
  • The applicant shall assume all liabilities and will be responsible for all action, claims, damages and losses whatsoever occasioned by or on account of the issuance of the permit

Any personal information or personal health information submitted will be collected, used, and disclosed, where applicable, by members of Regional staff according to the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act or the Personal Health Information Protection Act. Any information you share will only be used for the intended purpose for which it was provided.
