On Sept. 26, 2024, Regional Council approved a motion to extend Smarter Niagara Incentive Program Tax Increment Grant / Brownfield Tax Increment Grant and Smart Growth for 18 months until April 1, 2026.

• Affordable Housing
  Programs that aim to boost and maintain affordable housing in Niagara
• Brownfield Remediation
  Incentives to improve environmental, economic and urban planning outcomes
• Employment
  Incentives to attract and retain new businesses and full-time jobs in Niagara
• Public Realm
  Supports local municipalities by providing a matching grant to enhance the public realm
