Public Realm Investment Program
Niagara Region partners with local municipalities to improve the accessibility, sustainability and attractiveness of public realm areas within Regional roads.
Investing in the public realm contributes to the vibrancy and economic uplift of downtowns and main streets by attracting people and investment.
Public realm projects are coordinated with capital projects to leverage the investment.
The Public Realm Investment Program provides local cities and towns with a matching grant from $25,000 to $150,000 for public realm enhancements on Regional roads in core areas.
Eligibility
To be eligible, projects must:
- Be submitted and approved by a local municipality in Niagara or the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority
- Have confirmed applicant funding equal to the amount requested within three months of application

- Be completed by the end of the year following the award year
- Have or be able to execute maintenance agreements
How to apply
Local municipalities and the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority may submit more than one project, but each project needs a separate application.
