About the project

The Lakeshore Road Culvert is in St. Catharines on Lakeshore Road (Regional Road 87), about 360 metres east of Geneva Street. It carries Spring Garden Creek under Lakeshore Road.

The existing structure is a steel multi-plate arch culvert. It spans about 3.5 metres.

A full replacement is recommended because the structure is in poor condition.

Local Information

The construction is expected to include a full road closure and a signed detour. Timing and length are still to be determined. We will notify the public of any impacts on vehicle and pedestrian traffic as the project moves forward.

Property acquisitions are not expected. If the project affects private property, a team member will contact the owners directly.
