All Niagara Region projects

About the project

Niagara Region is starting a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for intersection improvements at Thorold Stone Road (Regional Road 57) and Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.

This Environmental Assessment will:

  • Identify alternatives for the current road design, including horizontal and vertical alignment
  • Address traffic capacity and improve safety
  • Incorporate new traffic signal infrastructure
  • Improve access management
  • Evaluate active transportation and transit facilities using industry best practices and complete streets principles

The Environmental Assessment will also look at road improvements from Dorchester Road to the Queen Elizabeth Way northbound on-ramp and consider safety improvements to the access to Rolling Acres Drive.

Through this project, Niagara Region will continue to support safe and efficient transportation infrastructure and engage the community throughout the planning and design process.
