St. David's Chlorination Facility Upgrade
All Niagara Region projects

About the project

The St. David's Chlorination Booster Station is owned and operated by Niagara Region.

The station is located at 1850 St. Paul Ave. on the Niagara Falls border within Niagara-on-the-Lake, and is part of the Decew water system.

The purpose of the facility is to re-chlorinate water and boost the chlorine residual levels from the City of Niagara Falls interconnection to the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Adequate chlorine residuals must be maintained in the water distribution system to ensure water quality.

A sustainability upgrade is needed due to:

  • Deteriorating conditions of the existing facility
  • Escalating maintenance and operations costs

This project is a Schedule 'A+' project. It is pre-approved according to the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment.
