Wastewater Treatment and Collection Annual Performance Reports
Niagara Region is responsible for the collection and treatment of wastewater. This is essential to public health and the protection of the environment.
Wastewater services are delivered using a two-tier model.
- Local municipalities own and operate local gravity sewer mains
- Niagara Region owns and operates large gravity sewer trunk lines, most pumping station and forcemains, and all wastewater treatment facilities
Annual reports by wastewater treatment facility
Each year, Niagara Region must submit performance summary reports for the wastewater system Niagara Region owns and operates. The reports must meet Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks requirements.

The Crystal Beach wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to the Crystal Beach and Ridgeway areas in Fort Erie.
- Niagara Falls Wastewater System - Niagara-on-the-Lake, Niagara Falls
The Niagara Falls wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to Niagara Falls and the St. David's area in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to areas in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

The Port Dalhousie wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to areas in St. Catharines and Thorold.

- Seaway Wastewater System - Port Colborne
The Seaway wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to areas in Port Colborne.
- Stevensville-Douglastown Lagoon Wastewater System - Fort Erie
The Stevensville-Douglastown Lagoon wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to the Black Creek, Douglastown and Stevensville areas in Fort Erie.
- Welland Wastewater System - Thorold, Pelham, Welland
The Welland wastewater system provides trunk level collection of wastewater and wastewater treatment to Pelham, Welland and a portion of Thorold.
