Under the Health Protection and Promotion Act, the following personal services are not allowed: Scleral tattooing and piercing, ear candling or coning, or any services that use live aquatic animals such as fish pedicures.

Routine Infection Control Practice Requirements

During service delivery with all clients, we agree that staff will ensure:

Every person providing a personal service will clean their hands with alcohol-based hand rub if their hands aren't visibly dirty or with soap and water if they are
Every person providing a personal service will not eat, drink or smoke where the service is performed
The service will not be performed in a room or area used for dining, sleeping or for preparing, selling, handling, eating or storing food
Every person providing a service will keep personal items away from the service area and storage space
The booth must be kept free of animals
All packages must stay in a sanitary condition until they are used
Aftercare instructions are given to clients after invasive services

Handling Equipment and Product Requirements

During service delivery with all clients, we will ensure:

All used sharps are thrown out right after use in an approved sharps container
The manufacturer instructions for use, if applicable, are available at the event. These instructions will be followed unless otherwise directed by the public health inspector.
Equipment used for invasive services is pre-packaged in sterile, single-use packaging. Packaging must have a lot number and expiry date.
Tools will not be cleaned or disinfected on-site. Vendors using reusable tools must have enough supply for the event. These items must arrive in a closed container labelled "clean". There must also be a covered container to store used items labelled "dirty".

Other Personal Service Setting Requirements

We will ensure:

Client chairs and service beds will be smooth, non-absorbent and easy to clean. If plastic barriers are used as a cover, they must be changed between clients.
Contact surfaces such as counters, trays and tables have a smooth, non-absorbent finish to allow for proper cleaning and disinfection
Only disinfectants that meet Health Canada labelling requirements, including a Drug Identification Number (DIN) or Natural Product Number (NPN) will be used. This includes when dispensed into smaller containers. The only exemption is bleach.
Only Health Canada-approved skin antiseptics with a DIN or NPN will be used
Single-use gloves will be provided to every person doing an invasive service
Properly lined garbage disposal receptacles that are emptied regularly must be provided
Vendors will not attend the event if they are sick
A hand wash station will be available near the services. It will be stocked with the required supplies and used only for hand washing.

Record Keeping Requirements

We will ensure the following records are kept on-site:

Client records and other records will be kept and available at the vendor's booth
Client records (completed before the service starts) will document the type of service and the name and contact information of the person receiving it. These records will also include the lot number of any invasive items used that were pre-packaged (for example needles or needle cartridges).
Accidental blood or bodily fluid exposure records will document details of the exposure, the names and contact information of the service provider and client, and what actions were taken
Ontario vendors will bring a copy of their latest inspection report to the event

Vendor Agreement and Acknowledgement

Vendors at the event must follow Ontario Regulation 136/18 - Personal Service Settings and the Guide to Infection Prevention and Control in Personal Service Settings.

I confirm that I have read and understood this application and will follow all requirements during the entire event. I also agree to ensure that all persons providing services, personal or otherwise, for the vendor will also follow all requirements.
