Interns, students and volunteers play a vital role in the delivery of our programs and services within our corporation and our communities.

Who can apply

  • High school students

    To work or volunteer at Niagara Region, you must:

    • Be 18 years and under
    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
    • Have a Social Insurance Number
    • Be enrolled in full-time studies
    • Have consent from a parent

  • Post-secondary students

    Opportunities for post-secondary school students include:

    • Co-ops (paid and unpaid)
    • Summer jobs (paid) - posted January to March each year

    To work as a co-op or summer student at Niagara Region, you must:

    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
    • Have a Social Insurance Number
    • Have successfully completed Grade 12 or equivalent before the end of May
    • Have proof of returning to full-time studies or need the placement as a condition of graduation

  • University / college graduates

    Opportunities for graduates include:

    • Internships (paid and unpaid)

    To work as an intern at Niagara Region, you must:

    • Be legally entitled to work in Canada
    • Have a Social Insurance Number
    • Have successfully completed post-secondary school within the last 18 months in a related field of study
