Niagara Compliance Audit Committee

In accordance with section 88.37 of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, as amended, a joint Compliance Audit Committee was established in 2018 by Niagara Region, area municipalities, the District School Board of Niagara and the Niagara Catholic District School Board.

Section 88.33 and 88.35 of the Act, provide that an elector who is entitled to vote in an election and believes that on reasonable grounds that a candidate or registered third arty has contravened a provision of the Act relating to election campaign finances may apply for a compliance of the candidate's or registered third party's campaign finances, even if the candidate has not filed a financial statement.
