Collection Services for Large Apartments and Condos (7 or more units)

Residents living in apartments with seven or more units are allowed the following:

Service Collected Maximum Amount per Week
Garbage Every-other-week Two bags or cans per unit to a maximum of 24 bags/cans per building.

Size limits for bag/can

Garbage tags cannot be used for extra bags.

Grey Box/Cart Weekly Unlimited (One Grey Cart per 11 units recommended)
Blue Box/Cart Weekly Unlimited (One Blue Cart per 20 units recommended)
Green Bin/Cart Weekly Unlimited (One Green Cart per 30 units recommended)

Textile Donation / Recycling

The donation or recycling of textiles is available to eligible to apartment buildings that have a superintendent on-site.

Interested property managers or superintendents can submit a request for more information and to determine eligibility. A waste management staff person will be in contact to schedule a site visit.

Electronics Recycling

Electronics recycling is available to eligible apartment buildings that have a superintendent on-site.

Interested property managers or superintendents can submit a request for more information and to determine eligibility. A waste management staff person will be in contact to schedule a site visit.

Battery Recycling

Battery collection is available to eligible apartment buildings. The program provides buildings with collection pails or drums for residents to put their used batteries for recycling.

Interested property managers or superintendents can submit a request for more information and to determine eligibility. A waste management staff person will be in contact to schedule a site visit.

Getting Carts and In-unit Recycling Bags

Property managers / superintendents are responsible for purchasing recycling carts and replacing broken carts. If you wish to order or replace a Blue or Grey Cart, call 905-356-4141 or toll-free 1-800-594-5542.

At the start of each recycling program, units will receive two free reusable recycling bags along with an introductory letter and an information package.

Obtaining Green Carts and In-unit Kitchen Catchers

Property managers / superintendents will be responsible for purchasing additional carts and replacing broken carts.
