Eligibility for Niagara Specialized Transit

Persons wishing to use specialized transit must meet the following criteria:

  • Reside in the Regional Municipality of Niagara
  • Be travelling from one municipality to another municipality
  • Be a person with a disability
  • Have a disability that prevents them from using conventional transit

Disability alone does not create eligibility. Decisions are made on a case-by-case basis and are based on the applicant's functional ability to use conventional transit some or all of the time.

It is not a medical decision deemed by the applicant's physician, nor is it based on the applicant's income or age. Unavailability of conventional transit does not constitute eligibility.

Apply for Transit

Persons who meet the above eligibility requirements can complete the application process.

As of December 21, 2016, a new application form has been made available. Ensure your application is completed using the updated form as old forms will not be accepted after December 2016.
