Welland Water Treatment Plant New Transmission Watermain
All Niagara Region projects

About the project

Niagara Region and the City of Welland are installing new water and sewer infrastructure from the Welland Water Treatment Plant across the Welland Recreational Canal and along Merritt Street to Niagara Street.

This project will include a new transmission main across the canal and replacement of the City of Welland's water and sewer mains on Merritt Street from Aqueduct Street to Niagara Street.

Niagara Region's new transmission main will provide security of supply to northwest Welland. The City of Welland's work on Merritt Street will replace the water and sanitary sewer that has reached the end of its useful life. The proposed upgrades to Merritt Street include new curb and gutter, as well as sidewalks on both sides of the street.
