About the project

The Master Servicing Plan recommends construction of a new 400 millimetre transmission watermain in Smithville. The construction is to accommodate growth. The Region is starting the first section to service the northwest quadrant of the area. It is about 2.6 kilometres along Thompson Road, Spring Creek Road and South Grimsby Road 5.

The category of this project is a Schedule "A+" and is pre-approved. This is according to the Municipal Engineers Association Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document. Niagara Region must inform the general public, external agencies, Indigenous communities and organizations before the project starts.
