Rosehill Water Treatment Plant New Intake Pipe and Outfall
All Niagara Region projects
About the project
In 2022, Niagara Region completed a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study for the Rosehill Water Treatment Plant new intake pipe. The Rosehill Water Treatment Plant is located at 300 Rosehill Rd. in Fort Erie.
The Region is starting a Class Environmental Assessment Addendum for the Rosehill Water Treatment Plant intake and outfall. This is to update the preferred solution from 2022. The change aims to improve how the new intake and infrastructure are built and phased.
The Rosehill intake pipe is a key asset within the Niagara Region water infrastructure system. It extends into Lake Erie and is located at the south end of Rosehill Road. It needs of replacement as a result of aging infrastructure.
The project is being carried out under the Environmental Assessment Act. It will identify and evaluate alternatives, considering environmental, social, cultural, financial and technical impacts, along with mitigation measures.
Consultation with the public, Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies and stakeholder groups is important to this study. We will advertise the Public Information Centre in local newspapers and on our website and social media.
The map in the image gallery shows the approximate limits of the study area.
