About the Project

Reconstruction of Regional Rd. 87 from Third St. Louth to Seventh St. Louth in St. Catharines is anticipated to begin in spring of 2021, with construction expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

The project is in the final design stages, with utility relocates underway in anticipation of the upcoming construction.

Construction includes installation of a new storm sewer, along with new curb and gutter, cycling facilities and improved drainage.

Businesses remain open

Temporary driveway closures may happen from time-to-time, but access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

Expected traffic delays

Regional Road 87 (Lakeshore Rd.) will be open to through traffic during construction, with the exception of paving. During paving, the road will be closed during night hours only and will be reopened to traffic in the morning.

Throughout construction there will be temporary lane restrictions which will result in delays. Residents and motorists can avoid delays by using alternate routes.
