Lakeshore Road (Regional Road 87) from Four Mile Creek Road to Townline Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake functions as a two-lane arterial roadway serving east-west traffic flows and provides access to agricultural and residential uses on the roadway. The roadway also provides a commuter linkage from the Old Town to St. Catharines.
The section of Lakeshore Road to be addressed during 2022 construction is located between Townline Road and Konzelmann Winery.
Phase 1 construction from Four Mile Creek to Konzelmann Winery was previously completed. Phase 2 construction between Townline Road and Konzelmann Winery is deficient in terms of road surface condition and drainage. The Region intends to reconstruct this section of roadway to eliminate these deficiencies.
Before construction, the contractor's inspection firm will arrange for an inspection of the interior and exterior of your house or building to determine and document the extent of any cracking or other damage that exists before construction. This information can be used to determine the extent of the contractor's responsibility in the unlikely event that damage to your house or building occurs during construction.
Traffic will be reduced to a single lane for the duration of the project. Drivers can avoid delays by using alternative routes. Any anticipated full closures will be advertised with detours.
