About the project
The reconstruction of Ontario Street (Regional Road 42) between Linwell Road and Lakeport Road (Regional Road 87) will be completed as part of a Municipal Class Schedule "C" Environmental Assessment, which identified the need for improvement in traffic operations, capacity and safety, all of which will be addressed.
The work to be completed includes the reconstruction and widening of the intersection, installation of a new storm sewer and culvert replacement, upgraded illumination and inclusion of active transportation. Sidewalk upgrades and watermain work will also be completed on behalf of the City of St. Catharines.

Local Information
Businesses remain open
Temporary lane, sidewalk and driveway closures may happen from time to time, but access to businesses will be kept at all times.
Expected traffic delays
Regional traffic will be kept open to through traffic during construction. However, throughout construction there will be temporary lane restrictions which will result in delays. Drivers can avoid delays by using alternative routes.
