Pelham Road (Regional Road 69) Reconstruction from Wessel Drive to Twenty Road

About the Project

Niagara Region is reconstructing Pelham Road (Regional Road 69) in Lincoln from Wessel Drive to Twenty Road to address the road condition and on-road cycling facilities, replace the culvert and make safety improvements.

Construction activities will include:

  • Road reconstruction and widening, on-road paved shoulders
  • Replacement of concrete box culvert and new limestone rock headwalls for culvert
  • New roadway lighting at intersections
  • Improved drainage in the area of the concrete box culvert
  • Grading of boulevards including topsoil and seed and tree plantings

Tree plantings at various locations throughout the project. During the road reconstruction, we will maintain one lane of traffic. Delays can be expected.

Construction activity progress

During fall 2022, we:

  • Completed base asphalt in the area of the culvert replacement
  • Installed new guiderail
  • Replaced bridge culvert
  • Added new headwalls, guiderail and slope stabilization at the culvert
  • Installed storm sewers in association with new culvert
  • Completed preliminary grading in the area of the culvert works
