About the Project
Niagara Region is reconstructing Niagara Stone Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake from Four Mile Creek Road to Line 1 to address:
- Road capacity
- Road conditions
- Infrastructure improvements
- Street scaping and urban design improvements
- Overhead utility conversion to underground
This project is in partnership with the Niagara-on-the-Lake and Niagara-on-the-Lake Hydro.
Businesses will stay open during construction. Every effort will be made to minimize the potential impact to local businesses.
There will be an alternate route posted for the construction period when lane restrictions are in place. Signage stating that road is open, but expect delays will be placed at the limits of construction.

Construction Update
Niagara Stone Road (Regional Road 55) will remain open to through traffic during construction and businesses will remain open.
There is an alternate route available for those wanting to avoid the construction area / construction delays.
