About the project

Niagara Region is reconstructing Niagara Stone Road in Niagara-on-the-Lake from Line 1 to East West Line to address:

• Road capacity
• Road conditions
• Infrastructure improvements

This section of road will be reconstructed to a three lane rule cross-section replacing the signal at East West Line. Road section will include on-road paved shoulders while maintaining the current multi-use path.

This project is in partnership with the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Businesses will stay open during construction. Every effort will be made to minimize the potential impact to local businesses.

Phase 1 of this project was completed in Fall 2023 which included the reconstruction of Niagara Stone Road between Four Mile Creek Road and Line 1.
