King Street (Regional Road 81) from Greenlane to Lincoln Avenue

About the project

Niagara Region is addressing the failing road platform along King Street (Regional Road 81) from Lincoln Avenue to Greenlane in Lincoln. The existing road has reached the end of its lifecycle and requires remediation. This project will provide a complete reconstruction of the road.

The design upgrades include:

• Replacing culverts
• Improving sub-surface drainage
• Repairing and reconstructing the ditches, curb and gutter to improve roadside drainage
• Improving illumination at the intersections
• Widening the road platform to include paved shoulders with painted buffers
• Geometric improvements at the Thirty Road intersection
• Constructing traffic signals at Thirty Road and Lincoln Avenue

This project is being completed in partnership with the Town of Lincoln. It will install new town sewers or replace existing ones to support future improvements and address aging infrastructure.

The proposed work includes a new storm sewer and outlet for a future Thirty Road reconstruction project. It will also replace about 250 metres of existing sanitary sewer and service laterals between Hillview Drive and Lincoln Avenue.
