Niagara Region is undertaking a Class B Environmental Assessment, design and construction for upgrading the existing Bridgeport Sewage Pumping Station in the Town of Lincoln.
This project is part of the recommended improvements to the Bridgeport Wastewater Catchment area as part of the Region's Water and Wastewater Master Servicing Plan. The purpose of the project is to ensure the infrastructure can meet demand to support the growth in the surrounding area of Lincoln.
The Class Environmental Assessment study will follow the Schedule 'B' Municipal Class environmental assessment process as set out by the Municipal Engineers Association (October 2000 amended in 2007, 2011 and 2015).
Niagara Region will be considering and evaluating suitable options for upgrading the Bridgeport Sewage Pumping Station. The Region will look at impacts that the construction of the proposed upgrades may have on the local area. The preferred alternative determined from the class environmental assessment study will be used as a basis for the final design and construction for the upgrades to the pumping station.
