Niagara Region is undertaking a Schedule B Municipal Class Environmental Assessment to evaluate options for the Beaverdams Sewage Pumping Station.
It's located at 1878 Beaverdams Rd. in Thorold and is within the service area for the Port Dalhousie Wastewater Treatment Plant. This service area was identified in the Region's 2017 Master Servicing Plan as an area that is expected to experience growth over the next 25 years.
The anticipated growth is expected to increase capacity demands creating the need for station upgrades and forcemain replacement. This study is evaluating potential station upgrades and existing forcemain capacity with potential alternative forcemain routes.
