Notice of construction for two pedestrian crossovers at Gorham Road and Ridge Road
Niagara Region is constructing two pedestrian crossovers and completing illumination upgrades at Gorham Road and Ridge Road at the Friendship Trail under Contract No. 2021-T-140 on behalf of the Town of Fort Erie.
This contract will be carried out on behalf of Niagara Region and Town by Weinmann Limited. Construction is tentatively scheduled to start Nov. 15 until complete.
Every effort will be made to maintain access to neighbouring properties and to minimize inconvenience to businesses, residents and pedestrians.
To protect construction workers and complete the work safely and cost effectively, there will be single lane closures during construction. Although the contractor must provide safe pedestrian access at all times, please be careful when walking through the construction zone.
Niagara Region has declared this project an essential project. Work is proceeding under this declaration. The contractor must provide a COVID-19 Health and Safety Policy for completing this work under current recommended guidelines. This includes social distancing with other crew members and the public who may approach the job site. We ask residents to social distance from the crew members on site.
