Notice of Demolition of Old Central Sewage Pumping Station in Niagara Falls

Niagara Region is issuing this public notice under the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process for the demolition of the old Central Sewage Pumping Station, located at 4365 Park St. in the City of Niagara Falls. The facility was decommissioned in 2007 and has not been operational since. Demolition work is anticipated to begin in fall 2020 and last approximately six months.

Niagara Region identified the need to decommission and demolish the old Central Sewage Pumping Station after the construction of the new Central Sewage Pumping Station.

This project is being implemented as a Schedule “A+” activity under the current requirements of the Municipal Engineers Association Class Environmental Assessment process. This planning process will include requirements to minimize impacts on the surrounding community and the natural environment.

Niagara Region encourages the public to actively participate in the planning process. Anyone who wishes to comment on or be involved in this project should indicate their interest, preferably in writing to the following:
