Notice of Construction: Grimsby Water Storage System

Niagara Region is proceeding with significant upgrades and expansion to the Grimsby Water Storage System including the addition of a 15 million-litre potable water storage reservoir and a 500 mm diameter watermain along Park Rd., as well as upgrades at the existing Park Road Pumping Station and Reservoir. The section of watermain to be constructed along Park Rd. is approximately 850 metres in length extending from the proposed new Grimsby Reservoir located 530 metres south of Ridge Rd. interconnecting to the existing 500 mm watermain located 320 metres north of Ridge Rd.

The public is advised that construction activity is currently in progress, and will be ongoing according to the estimated times below:

  • ​Grimsby Storage Reservoir: Feb. 2020 – Nov. 2021
  • 500 mm diameter watermain: May – Nov. 2020
  • Upgrades at the existing Park Road Pumping Station and Reservoir: April – Nov. 2021

Lane restrictions, lane closures, and road closures resulting in travel delays are expected and ongoing. Alternate routes around the construction zone will be posted and we ask drivers to take these routes. Your cooperation and patience while work is being completed is appreciated.
