State of emergency: COVID-19 in Niagara

Notice of Construction: Phase 1 - Grimsby Watermain Replacement

Niagara Region is proceeding with upgrades to the Region’s transmission main in Grimsby along Regional Rd. 40 (South Service Rd. / Clarke St.). The section of watermain to be constructed in this phase is approximately 2,400 m in length. Motorists and the general public are hereby advised that construction activity is currently in progress, and will be continuous until Aug. 2020, at the following locations:

  • ​Regional Rd. 40 between Murray St. and Baker Rd. N
  • Nelles Rd. N between Regional Rd. 40 and 100 m south of intersection with Regional Rd. 40
  • Elizabeth St. between Regional Rd. 40 and 100 m south of intersection with Regional Rd. 40

Lane restrictions, lane closures, and road closures resulting in travel delays are expected and ongoing. Alternate routes around the construction zone will be posted and should be taken. Your co-operation and patience during this period of inconvenience will be appreciated.
