Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day Set for May 14, 2022
WHAT:
Niagara Region Public Health and Niagara Regional Police Service invite residents to drop off old and unused prescription drugs at participating locations across Niagara on Prescription Drug Drop-Off Day. All prescription drugs collected will be destroyed.

Saturday, May 14, 2022
10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

WHO:
Residents across the Niagara region may attend any of the six drop-off locations
WHERE:
- Fort Erie – Leisureplex Arena, 3 Municipal Centre Dr.
- Lincoln - Fleming Centre, 5020 Serena Dr.
- Niagara Falls – Community Health Centre, 4790 Victoria Ave.
- Niagara-on-the-Lake – Community Centre, 14 Anderson Ln.
- Thorold – Niagara Region Headquarters, 2201 Sir Isaac Brock Way
- Welland – Jack Ballantyne Memorial Arena, 501 King St.
WHY:
Prescription drug take-back options are the best way to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription drugs. Flushing prescription drugs down the toilet / sink or disposing in the garbage or recycling is harmful to the environment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Be sure to remove all personal information on prescription drug labels and packaging. You can do this by using a dark marker to block out the personal health information or tear off the label, rip it up and throw it away.
- If you are unable to attend this event, you can return your old and unused prescription drugs to your local pharmacy for free
