One-year anniversary celebration of every-other-week garbage collection

Media are invited to attend a celebration to recognize the one-year anniversary of every-other-week garbage collection.

WHO: Niagara Regional Chair Jim Bradley, Vice-President, Resource Recovery at Walker Industries Geoff Boyd, Director of Waste Management Services Catherine Habermebl, Members of the Public Works Commiitee and the Waste Management Planning Steering Committee and partners (Land Care Niagara, Miller Waste Systems and Green for Life)

WHAT: The event will include remarks from speakers, ceremonial tree planting / photo opportunities and media interviews

WHERE: Glenridge Naturalization Site

Event taking place underneath main gazebo off parking lot

WHEN: Thursday, Oct. 21, 1 – 1:45 p.m.

WHY: This event provides an opportunity to acknowledge the one-year anniversary of every-other-week garbage collection and celebrate the increased usage of Green Bin across the region.

NOTE: This event will follow all Provincial public health guidelines (contact tracing sign-in sheet, self-screening, physical distancing, use of masks and hand sanitizer). Event is rain or shine and will be outside. Dress accordingly with the proper outwear and footwear.
