Niagara Region is starting a new waste collection contract on Oct. 19, which will see two new waste collection companies serving the community. The new collection contract is split into two areas:
Niagara Region invites the media to attend a photo op / media event this Wednesday, Sept. 30 in St. Catharines to introduce staff from Green For Life (GFL).
Niagara Regional Chair Jim Bradley will be in attendance, as well as Regional Councillors Kelly Edgar, Tim Rigby, Terry Ugulini and Albert Witteveen, as well as Mayor of St. Catharines, Walter Sendzik. Representing GFL will be Patrick Dovigi, Marsha Guy and Dave Vieira.
Everyone attending the photo op in person are asked to wear face coverings, which will cover the nose, mouth and chin, and maintain physical distancing of two metres during the event.

Niagara Region’s new waste collection contract will see changes to curbside waste collection effective Oct. 19. Niagara Regional Council approved every-other-week garbage collection at a Special Council Meeting on Oct. 17, 2019. The change will apply to garbage collection for all low-density residential properties (single home and properties with one to six units), and for those Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional and Mixed-Use properties located outside Designated Business Areas.
