Community Safety Zone at Twenty Valley Public School in the Town of Lincoln

Media, businesses and residents are invited to attend an event to recognize the new Community Safety Zone located at Twenty Valley Public School in the Town of Lincoln.

WHO: Town of Lincoln Mayor Sandra Easton, Regional Councillor Robert Foster, Chair of the Public Works Committee and Regional Councillor Tim Rigby, Niagara Regional Police Service 8 District Commander, Staff Sergeant Romolo Di Egidio and staff from Twenty Valley Public School

WHAT: The event will include a formal remarks, photo opportunity and media interview opportunities

WHERE: Twenty Valley Public School

Event taking place outside main entrance of the school under veranda

WHEN: Friday, Oct. 25, 2019

8:15 – 8:35 a.m. – Twenty Valley Public School Go Green event (outside school) and school assembly in gymnasium to welcome VIP guests

8:35 – 9:25 a.m. – Formal speeches and photo opportunity
(outside school under veranda)

9:30 a.m. – Tree planting in honour of the new Community Safety Zone, Go Green Day and International Walk to School month

WHY:  This event provides an opportunity to introduce the new community safety zone located outside of Twenty Valley Public School. October is also International Walk to School Month and road safety measures like Community Safety Zones help children walk or bicycle to and from school safely. There will be a tree planted in honour of all the festivities as well. The goal of this new community safety zone is to modify driver behaviour and improve safety on specific sections of roads within the Niagara region.
