Parent Handbook for Niagara Region Licensed Home Child Care
Licensed home child care offers flexible hours of care that many families need. The program supports daytime, evening, overnight and weekend care, seven days a week based on provider availability.
As a licensed agency, Niagara Region carefully selects and contracts with independent operators who provide child care services in their homes for children between birth and 12 years old. The Region provides training and regular, unscheduled inspections. It also monitors the home for safety, cleanliness and the number and ages of children.
All home child care providers must agree to abide by legislation as outlined in the Child Care and Early Years Act and the policies and procedures of Niagara Region Children’s Services.
