As a member of a multidisciplinary team, the Occupational therapist is to provide comprehensive assessments and treatment to persons with severe and chronic mental health concerns. 

This is done through the completion of psychosocial assessments, administration of diagnostic tests and observations, individual treatment planning, ongoing evaluation of client progress and goals, and integration of treatment recommendations within a case planning model. 

Provides occupational therapy intervention, consultation and acts as a professional resource to a diverse team. 

Acts as an external resource and provides consultation to other mental health and community service providers.


  • Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy required. 
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy preferred.


  • Minimum of 4 - 5 years experience in a mental health setting.


  • Ability to work with persons with histories of substance abuse and mental illness and other co-occurring disorders in developing life roles, independence and balanced lifestyle through the establishment of therapeutic and supportive professional relationships. 
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and knowledge of local resources
  • Computer skills an asset

Special Requirements

  • Must be registered as a member of the Ontario College of Occupational Therapists
  • Must maintain ability to travel in a timely manner to other offices, work locations or sites as authorized by the Corporation for business reasons.
