Niagara Region has a 3 to 4 month Development Planning Student position available from (June to August 2019) with the Planning and Development Services Department.
This is an excellent learning opportunity for students enrolled in an Urban, Rural or Environmental Planning-related field of study.The Development Planning Student assists with reviewing, analyzing and preparing comments on development-related applications, including Niagara Escarpment Development Permits, zoning by-law amendments and Environmental Assessments.
The student also assists in the development of planning documents and guidelines and in carrying out research, as well as preparing maps, aerial photography, and letters/reports and other applicable data on planning and other related matters as required.
The student will have the opportunity to work alongside professional, technical and clerical staff to learn many different aspects of a job in the Planning field.Location: The position is based out of Niagara Region's Headquarters Building, 1815 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold, ON. The location is accessible by public transit.Hours of work: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
