Councillor Albert Witteveen is serving his first term on regional council. His political career started when he was elected as a councillor in the Township of West Lincoln where he served two terms from 2000 to 2006.
He works in the agriculture industry as a consultant and associate to a number of farmers here in Niagara.
Councillor Witteveen has sat on community boards such as PoultryFest, Niagara North Federation of Agriculture and the Ontario Hop Growers Association. He is active on the Citizen Liaison Committee at Regional Road 12 Landfill, Waste Management Advisory Ccommittee at Niagara Region and is a representative on the Agricultural Policy and Action Committee.
He is chair of both the Niagara North Federation of Agriculture and the Ontario Hop Growers Association.
