Notice of proposed amendment to Fees and Charges By-Law
At its meeting to be held on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m., Niagara Regional Council will consider amendments to the fees and charges by-law. These changes are scheduled to take effect on Oct. 1, 2025.
The amendments relate to a new affordable housing development charges exemption agreement and policy. View more information in report CSD 41-2025 as presented at the Sept. 10, 2025 Corporate Services Committee meeting.- Current fee description: Development charge agreements
- Revised fee description: Development charge agreements (except for affordable units development charge exemption agreements)
- Current fee description: Administration fee for default of payment of development charges per sections 26.1 and 26.2 of the Development Charges Act
- Revised fee description: Administrative fee for default of payment of development charges
New fees (HST exempt)
- Current fee description: Development charge agreements for affordable units development charge exemption
- Fee amount: $3,500
- Current fee description: Administrative fee for default under development charges agreements
- Fee amount: $570
