Notice of construction: Welland Water Treatment Plant transmission main replacement in Welland
Niagara Region is replacing a transmission watermain from the Welland Water Treatment Plant across the Welland Recreation Canal to Merritt Road. The work will take place alongside a City of Welland road reconstruction project. Upgrades include storm and sanitary sewers, watermain, new sidewalks, curb and gutter, full road replacement and restoration.
Rankin Construction Inc. has been awarded the project and will be completing the work. Construction will begin in August 2025 and continue until June 2026. Working hours will be between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday to Friday. Some work may take place outside of these hours.
During construction, expect dust, noise at times and road closures in the area. Detours will be set up through nearby neighbourhoods. If access to your property or services will be affected, you will get advance notice.
