Celebrate Earth Week with Niagara Region

​Earth Week is a week dedicated to honouring and protecting our planet. Join us in celebrating Earth Week 2025 with these activities from April 16 - 26.
 
Depot Days Contest
Saturday, April 19 - Saturday, April 26
 
Don’t throw away your old electronics—bring them to a Regional drop-off depot for proper disposal and a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card. Each item dropped off earns a ballot entry.
 
 
Shred Day
Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Niagara Regional Headquarters, Campbell East entrance (1815 Sir Isaac Brock Way, Thorold)
 
Shred your confidential documents for free with a cash or food donation for Community Care. Residents can bring up to three boxes of documents for free shredding ($4 per box after the first three).
 
Boxes should be no larger than a banker's box (15 inches long, 10 inches deep and 12 inches across). Only paper will be accepted (staples and smaller paperclips are acceptable).
 
Expired food donations are not accepted.

The Waste Info Booth will be staffed with knowledgeable Waste Management team members to answer your questions about Niagara's waste diversion programs. You can also purchase Green Bins for $19 and Kitchen Catchers for $4 at the booth (cash only).

  • Wednesday, April 16, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Links for Greener Learning Earth Day event at the St. Catharines Farmers Market
  • Saturday, April 19, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.: Earth Day Extravaganza at the Welland Farmers Market
  • Saturday, April 26, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.: Thorold Earth Day Event at the Thorold Arena
Booth visitors can also enter for a chance to win a new Green Bin!
