Niagara Region’s automated speed cameras moving to new locations in July
Niagara Region is preparing to move the Region’s four automated speed enforcement cameras to new community safety zones beginning July 25, 2024.
The four community safety zones where automated speed enforcement cameras will be in use include:
- Fort Erie - Central Avenue between Gilmore Road and Bertie Street
- Grimsby - Livingston Avenue between Roberts Road and Patton Street
- Niagara Falls - Lundy’s Lane between Kalar Road and Montrose Road
- Welland - Rice Road between Quaker Road and Woodlawn Road
In these areas, community members may notice work being done to install cameras and changes to on-road signs in preparation for automated speed enforcement.
The cameras will be actively enforcing speeding violations in these areas from early August through to mid-December.
The Automated Speed Enforcement Program is an important component of the Region’s Vision Zero initiative which is focused on the reduction and eventual elimination of serious injuries and fatalities on the Regional road network. Learn more about Vision Zero in Niagara.
