Road closure for Ontario Street (Regional Road 42) in St. Catharines

​UPDATE: The road closure is to start on Thursday, Nov. 9.
 
Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 to Friday, May 5, 2024
 
Ontario Street (Regional Road 42) from Linwell Road to Lakeport Road in St. Catharines will be closed to through traffic to build new storm sewer outfalls and a retaining wall, weather permitting.
 
The road closure is part of the Ontario Street (Regional Road 42) reconstruction project / road widening works.
 
Detour
  • Access northbound Ontario Street: Right on Linwell Road > Left on Lakeport Road
  • Access southbound Ontario Street: Right on Lakeport Road > Right on Linwell Road
 
Businesses and residents between #525 - #527 Ontario St. (one lane on the west side) will have access up to the Julianna Creek area (northbound). There will be no access to cross at Julianna Creek (local access only).
 
Access to Regatta Drive and Leicester Court will be through Royal Henley Boulevard.
 
Businesses and residents between #531 - #600 Ontario St. will have access up to the Julianna Creek area (southbound). There will be no access to cross at Julianna Creek.
 
There will be access from Ontario Street to the following side streets: Jaycee Park, Chapleau Gate, Ziraldo Road, Lakehurst Drive, Sparkes Street and Philpark Road.
 
Businesses will stay open at all times. Emergency services will have access via the detour routes.
