Notice of proposed amendment to the 2026 Niagara Transit operating budget
At its meeting on Thursday, July 30, Niagara Regional Council will consider a budget amendment that will transfer $1,700,000 from the Transit Stabilization Reserve to fund the estimated fuel-related pressures on Niagara Transit’s operating budget. The report outlining the proposed budget amendment was presented and approved by the Niagara Transit Commission Board on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.
Approval of this amendment will not affect the Niagara Transit special levy requisition for 2026. As such, the cities / towns will not see a change with the Niagara Transit special levy requisition charged in 2026.
